General description
Immunoaffinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~19 kDa p19ARF protein.
In humans, the multiple tumor suppressor 1 locus (MTS1) encodes two unrelated genes, p16INK4a and p19ARF. Although both act as cell proliferation inhibitors, their mechanisms of action are different. p19ARF works as part of a p53-dependant pathway to counter uncontrolled proliferation and oncogenic signals. Mice lacking the p19ARF gene rapidly develop a broad spectrum of tumors. This result indicates that p19ARF is an important tumor suppressor. In addition, p19ARF helps prevent transforming signals from various oncoproteins via the p53 regulatory loop. These studies and others display the importance of p19ARF in cell cycle control and tumor suppression. p19ARF recognizes in vitro translated murine p19ARF and a ~19 kDa band in murine CTLL2 cells.
Recognizes the ~19 kDa p19ARF protein in CTLL2 cells and mouse embryo fibroblasts.
This Anti-p19ARF (54-75) (Ab-1) Rabbit pAb is validated for use in Immunoblotting for the detection of p19ARF (54-75) (Ab-1).

The adenovirus E1A oncogene activates p53 through a signaling pathway involving the retinoblastoma protein and the tumor suppressor p19(ARF). The ability of E1A to induce p53 and its transcriptional targets is severely compromised in ARF-null cells, which remain resistant to

The p16INK4a gene located in the MTS1 (multiple tumor suppressor 1) locus encodes two proteins, p16INK4a and p19ARF, which are structurally unrelated but functionally similar as both inhibit cell cycle progression. In this review, we report and comment new data

The Ink4a/Arf locus encodes p16(Ink4a) and p19(Arf) and is among the most frequently mutated tumor suppressor loci in human cancer. In mice, many of these effects appear to be mediated by interactions between p19(Arf) and the p53 tumor-suppressor protein. Because
