      is a member of the virus family Flaviviridae. Zika is spread mostly by the
      bite of infeced Aedes species mosquitoes, such as (Ae. aegypti and Ae.
      albopictus). Its name comes from the Ziika Forest of Uganda, where the virus
      was first isolated in 1947.  Zika can
      be passed from a pregnant woman to her fetus. Infection during pregnancy
      can cause certain birth defects.
