      Revision14-July-2008 RFH
SynonymsIL-1β Converting Enzyme (ICE) Substrate III, Ac-YVAD-AMC
DescriptionInterleukin-1β converting enzyme (ICE) is a cysteine protease that cleaves the IL-1β precursor to mature IL-1β. The Km and kcat for the hydrolysis of this fluorogenic substrate by rhICE were shown to be 8.5 µM and 0.16 s-1, respectively. This substrate can be used in developing screening assays for ICE inhibitors. Cleavage of the substrate can be monitored using an excitation wavelength of ~365-380 nm and an emission wavelength of ~430-460 nm.
