General description

Zinc sulfate heptahydrate is a white crystalline solid commonly used as an electrolyte additive in batteries, particularly in zinc-carbon batteries. Additionally, it can be used as a corrosion inhibitor in batteries and a precursor to synthesize nanoparticles.

Application

Zinc sulfate heptahydrate can be used:
  • As an electrolyte for rechargeable hybrid aqueous batteries.
  • As a precursor to synthesize ZnO nanoparticles.
  • As a cathodic corrosion inhibitor in batteries.
Zinc sulfate heptahydrate coated activated carbon can be used in water filtration.
