General description

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a ubiquitously found electron carrier and a cofactor. NAD+ contains an adenylic acid and a nicotinamide-5′-ribonucleotide group linked together by a pyrophosphate moiety. In NAD+ complexes, the enzyme-cofactor interactions are highly conserved.

Application

NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), Grade I has been used in the kinetic studies of human class IV alcohol dehydrogenase.
NAD has been used in in vitro glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK3) deacetylation assay. It has also been used as a component in assay mix for the determination of kinetic characteristics using an enzyme-linked kinetic assay.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Aceptor de electrones
The NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)/NADH ratio regulates the intracellular redox potential, thereby influencing metabolic reactions in vivo. It works as an electron acceptor.
NAD is also involved in microbial catabolism. β-NAD acts as a substrate for various enzymes in several cellular processes.

Features and Benefits

Absorbance coefficients: 17.6 x 103l x mol-1 x cm-1 at 260nm, 5.9 x 103l x mol-1 x cm-1 at 333nm (CN complex)

Packaging

Envasado por peso sólido.

Preparation Note

Storage conditions (working solution): 10 mg/ml in aqueous solution, contains at least 99% NAD after 4 weeks at 2 to 8 °C

Analysis Note

Purity: 100% β-NAD based on dry weight (enzymatically, CN-complex and absorbance); A250nm - A260nm : 0.83 ± 0.02, A280nm - A260nm : 0.22 ± 0.02
Absence of contaminants: LDH inhibitors are not detectable
Organic solvents: =0.05% (GC)

Other Notes

Esta es la forma común del NAD.
