General description
Ethylene glycol butyl ether (EGBE) is an ethylene oxide-based glycol ether solvent commonly used in the coatings industry. Its relative evaporation rate with respect to n-butyl acetate has been reported to be 0.07. Its toxicity has been assessed. The effect of EGBE as a thickening solvent during acrylic latex synthesis has been investigated.
