Application

La anfotericina B es un antibiótico antifúngico poliénico procedente del género Streptomices. Tiene una elevada afinidad por los esteroles, especialmente los ergosteroles, de las membranas celulares fúngicas y bacterianas. El uso normal en el mantenimiento de los cultivos celulares antifúngicos es de 2,5 mg/l con penicilina y estreptomicina en el medio.

Biochem/physiol Actions

La anfotericina B se une a los esteroles formando poros en la membrana y provocando la salida de moléculas pequeñas. La máxima eficacia del producto es contra hongos y levaduras.

Disclaimer

La anfotericina B permanece activa durante 3 días en cultivo a 37°C. A -20°C, y con protección frente al aire y la luz, el producto permanece activo durante 5 años.

Mantenga el recipiente herméticamente cerrado y en un lugar bien ventilado. El producto es sensible a la luz y a la humedad.

Preparation Note

La anfotericina B es insoluble en agua a pH de 6 a 7, pero hidrosoluble a pH 2 u 11. Es soluble en DMSO (30-40 mg/ml) y en dimetilformamida (2-4 mg/ml). Las disoluciones acuosas no pueden esterilizarse mediante filtración debido a su baja solubilidad.
