Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) is used in personal care products including skin creams, cosmetics, shampoos, deodorants and conditioners. D5 is also used in various applications such as industrial cleaning fluids and dry cleaning solvents.
Application
Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (D5) can be used as:
- A greener solvent in synthetic chemistry applications.
- A monomeric unit for polymerization by various base catalysts to obtain polysiloxane polymer.

Corneal epithelial barrier dysfunction is harmful to corneal health; the pathogenesis is unclear. This study aims to elucidate the mechanism by which tryptase compromises corneal epithelial barrier function. Human corneal epithelial cell line (HCE cells) was cultured into monolayers using
