General description

1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (16:0 TAP) is a cationic lipid and a diol based transfection reagent.

Application

1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (16:0 TAP) is suitable to prepare lipid monolayer/liposome:
  • to mimic the presence of the cationic charge localized in the membrane for understanding the electrostatic effects in the biological membranes and to study its interaction with zearalenone and selenate ions
  • to study its effect on the L-pro catalyzed reaction
  • to serve as a positive control, to determine the effectiveness of anionic phospholipids for pro-inflammatory responses

Biochem/physiol Actions

1,2-dipalmitoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane (16:0 TAP) liposomes are known to promote elevated pro-inflammatory responses.
