General description

Peroxisomal membrane protein 14 (PEX14) is a component of the peroxisomal translocation machinery. It interacts with PEX19 and PEX13, and functions as the peroxisomal membrane docking factor for PEX5. The PEX7-PTS2 complex also docks at PEX14 indirectly via PEX5L, the longer isoform of PEX5. Defects in PEX14 result in peroxisome biogenesis disorder complementation group K and Zellweger syndrome.
~60 kDa observed. This product is known to exist in two isoforms at 41 kDa and 37 kDa, but it has also been observed at ~57-60 kDa (Nguyen, T. et al. 2006. J Cell Sci. 119 (Pt 4):636-645). An uncharacterized band may be observed at ~51 kDa in some cell lysates.

Immunogen

His-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human PEX14.

Application

Unpurified

Preparation Note

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Analysis Note

Control
NIH/3T3 cell lysate
Evaluated by Western Blot in NIH/3T3 cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected PEX14 (peroxisomal membrane marker) in 10 µg of NIH/3T3 cell lysate.
