General description

18:0-18:1 PG (1-stearoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-rac-glycerol)) is a phospholipid which carries a small head group. It is made of two 18 carbon chains with phosphoglycerol backbone.

Application

18:0-18:1 PG (1-stearoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-rac-glycerol)) has been used as a standard to analyze total lipid extracts by thin-layer chromatography (TLC). It may be used to measure the T-cell responses to lipid antigens using CD1 antigen-presenting molecule (CD1b) tetramers and in liposomes preparation.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) participates in photosynthetic electron transport.

Packaging

5 mL Clear Glass Sealed Ampule (840503P-25mg)

With phosphate deficiency, the role of phosphatidylglycerol is compensated by increased glycolipid content in thylakoid membrane biogenesis but not photosynthetic electron transport in Arabidopsis chloroplasts.
