General description

Mechano growth factor (MGF) is initially produced as a precursor (pro-MGF) from an mRNA species containing exons 5 and 6 of the IGF-I gene as a result of alternate splicing of the pro-IGF-1 mRNA in response to mechanical stimuli, such as tenectomy or eletrical stimulation. Exon 5 sequence-containing IGF-1 mRNA or the protein product is referred to as MGF, or Eb in rodents and Ec in human (PMID 20130113). Cat. no. 07-2108, Anti-Mechano Growth Factor (MGF), recognizes both pro- and mature MGF, but not IGF-I.
~15/8 kDa observed.

Immunogen

Epitope: E peptide domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the E peptide domain of mouse Mechano Growth Factor (MGF).

Application

Anti-Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) Antibody is an antibody against Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) for use in Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:250 dilution from a representative lot detected Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) in human prostate cancer and human cerebellum tissue.
Western Blotting Analysis: 1.0 µg/mL from a representative lot detected Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) in MGF recombinant protein (Heidi Scrable, University of Virginia).
Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:5,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) in mouse hypothalamus cells (Heidi Scrable, University of Virginia).
