General description

A modified analog of Aβ42 Fibrillogenesis Inhibitor I (Cat. No. 171586) that crosses the blood-brain barrier and acts as a β-sheet breaker. Reported to increase neuronal survival and reduce brain inflammation in a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease, probably due to a reduction in Aβ deposits. Displays greater stability against proteolytic degradation (t1/2 >24 hours in human plasma and cerebrospinal fluid; ~ 37 minutes in blood).
A modified analog of Aβ42 Fibrillogenesis Inhibitor I (Cat. No. 171586) that crosses the blood/brain barrier and acts as a β-sheet breaker. Increases neuronal survival with a concomitant reduction in brain inflammation by inducing a dramatic reduction in Aβ deposition in a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer′s disease. Displays greater stability against proteolytic degradation (t½ >24 h in human plasma and cerebrospinal fluid; ~37 min in blood).
