General description

A cell-permeable pyrazolo compound that inhibits cytokinesis function of the Aurora B kinase pathway. Inhibits Histone H3 phosphorylation on Ser10 in mitotic Drosophila Kc167 cells at 20 µM, while inactive in mammalian systems. Does neither function as a general kinase inhibitor nor inhibit Cdk-dependent entry into mitosis.
A cell-permeable pyrazolo compound that inhibits the cytokinesis function of the Aurora B kinase pathway. Shown to inhibit Aurora β-dependent phosphorylation, but not a general kinase inhibitor. Inhibits Histone H3 phosphorylation on Ser10 in mitotic Drosophila Kc167 cells at 20 µM, but is inactive in mammalian systems. Inhibit Cdk-dependent entry into mitosis.
