Native CEA from human colon adenocarcinoma via saline extraction, ion exchange chromatography, and gel filtration; no perchloric acid or detergents were used. Preservative and reductant free. Found in tumors in adults. A useful marker for breast cancer and adenocarcinomas of the esophagus and stomach.

Derived from liver metastases of colon adenocarcinoma via saline extraction, ion exchange, and gel filtration. No perchloric acid or detergents were used. Preservative and reductant-free. Purified CEA is the most widely used general marker in determining and monitoring the status of malignant disease.
