A thiourea compound that acts as an active-site-targeting COX-2 inhibitor. Exhibits better selectivity than Nimesulide and Celecoxib (% inhibition of COX-1 and COX-2 at 10.0 µM inhibitor concentration = 5.1 and 26.36 with BTB 02472; 9.87 and 19.94 with Nimesulide; 12.35 and 40.37 with Celecoxib).
