General description

A potent, cell-permeable, and covalent Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase (PTP) inhibitor. Binds to SHP-1(ΔSH2), the catalytic domain of the SH2 domain-containing phosphatase SHP-1, with lower affinity that PTP Inhibitor I (Cat. No. 540200) (Ki = 193 µM versus Ki = 43 mM) but with a higher kinact (1.8 min-1 versus 0.40 min-1). The inhibition can be reversed by irradiation of the inactivated PTP at 350 nm.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cell permeable: yes
Primary Target
protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP)
Product does not compete with ATP.
Reversible: yes
Target IC50: 193 µM against PTP
