General description

Recombinant, human SDF-1α (amino acids 22-89) expressed in E. coli. Chemoattractant for T lymphocytes and monocytes. A member of the CXC family that binds to the CXCR4 receptor and has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of infection by lymphocyte-tropic HIV-1 strains. Attracts mature lymphocytes to the bone marrow and may be involved in graft rejection.
Recombinant, human SDF-1α (amino acids 22-89) expressed in E. coli. Chemoattractant for T-lymphocytes and monocytes. Binds to the CXCR4 receptor and has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of infection by lymphocyte-tropic HIV-1 strains.

Biochem/physiol Actions

ED₅₀ = 3-9 ng/ml as measured by its ability to chemoattract 5-10 day cultured human T lymphocytes

Physical form

Lyophilized from a sterile-filtered solution of 30% acetonitrile, 0.1% TFA, 50 µg BSA/µg rhSDF-1α.

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-70°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -70°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.
Reconstitute to a concentration ≥10 µg/ml with sterile PBS, ≥0.1% HSA or BSA.
