Application
CP-456773 sodium salt has been used :
- In in vivo experiments to study the neuroprotective action of ketogenic diet.
- To study the effect of inhibition of NLRP3 (nod-like receptor protein 3) inflammasome activity on tumor progression in mouse models.
- To study the cholesterol crystal-mediated IL-1b (interleukin-1b) response in placental explants.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CP-456773 is known to inhibit the release of other proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1α and IL-18. It is also referred to as MCC950.
CP-456773 sodium salt (CRID3) was found to act as a cytokine release inhibitory drug and inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome. CP-456773 sodium salt inhibits interleukin 1β (IL-1β) secretion and caspase 1 processing.

NLRP3 inflammasome has been reported associated with some inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. We previously researches showed that interleukin-23 (IL-23) and interleukin-17 (IL-17) aggravates the ischaemic injury of the brain tissue. However, it is poorly understood whether the NLPR3 inflammasome was
