General description

An extremely potent, non-competitive antagonist for mGlu receptor subtype 1 (K_i = 0.34 nM; IC₅₀ = 0.55 nM). 400-fold more selective for mGlu₁ than for mGlu₅ and no interaction with mGlu₂, mGlu₃, mGlu₄, mGlu₆, AMPA or NMDA receptors (IC₅₀ >10 µM). Centrally active following systemic administration. Widely used for studying substance abuse, learning and memory, and neural plasticity.
