CENTA β-Lactamase Substrate

Chromogenic β-lactamase substrate for both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria that is comparable to other chromogens (PADAC Substrate and nitrocefin). Hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring causes a color change from light yellow (λ_max: 340 nm) to chrome yellow (λ_max: 405 nm). Relatively unaffected by commonly used microbiological media and human serum. Stable in H₂O and in the presence of cysteine, mercaptoethanol and dimercaptopropanol.

Please note that the molecular weight for this compound is batch-specific due to variable water content.

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 months at -20°C.
