β₂-Microglobulin, Human, Recombinant, E. coli

Recombinant, human β₂-microglobulin fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag sequence and expressed in E. coli. Subsequently cleaved with CNBr to remove the His•Tag sequence. Extracellular protein that is non-covalently associated with the α-chains of class I MHC molecules. Used as a marker for various tumors and for kidney disease. The purified protein functions similarly to the native protein in in vitro models of amyloid fibril extension.

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).
