General description
Native thyroglobulin, consisting of two polypeptide monomers of 330 kDa each, purified from human thyroid. This protein is an excellent source of N-linked glycans of various structures, including sialylated core fucose and oligomannose oligosaccharides. Also, Gal-3-SO4 and GalNAc-6-SO4 residues located in a single multi-branched complex type glycan have been reported in calf thymus and human proteins. When subjected to native PAGE this protein shows a band at
~660 kDa, representing the dimeric form, and another band at ~330 kDa, representing the monomeric form.

Physical form
Lyophilized from 20 mM NH₄HCO₃.
Preparation Note
Prepared from tissues of individuals that have been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.
Reconstitute in phosphate buffer, containing 150 mM NaCl, pH >7.0.
