Recognizes Dopamine D2 Receptor (D2R). Recognizes both native and denatured forms of D2R (110, 68 and 47 kDa bands by Western blot using rat striatal positive control (Catalog Number AG282)). AB1558 inhibits binding of [3H]YM-09152-2, a known D2R antagonist and (125)I-NAPS, a photoligand. It inhibits binding of [3H]YM-09152-2 and PPHT-fluorescein (an agonist of D2R) and reacts with 110 kDa D2R band in fibroblasts transfected with rat D2R cDNA. AG284 is available for blocking experiments; AG284 is not recommended as a positive control for western blots.

Immunogen
Amino-terminal peptide sequence (aa 24-34) near or at the ligand binding domain of rat D2R (1,2).
The immunogen shows 100% homology with mouse, 90% with human and bovine and 72% with canine D2R receptors. An antibody made to the same sequence has shown reactivity with human, lobster, squid and crawfish.
