Reacts with a protein of ~100 kDa, corresponding to the apparent molecular weight of PSD-95, on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of samples from rat, mouse and bovine. A slightly higher molecular weight band is also detected. In rat brain and mouse brain tissue extracts a band of ~75 kDa is also present.

General description
PSD-95 is part of a multiprotein complex restricted to the post-synaptic membrane. It is believed to initiate NMDA receptor clustering on the post synaptic membrane. Its restricted expression makes it an excellent marker for post-synaptic membrane regions on neurons.
~100 kDa
Immunogen
Recombinant rat PSD-95.
Preparation Note
Stable for 6 months at -20°C in undiluted aliquots from date of receipt. Do not store below -20°C.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variabillity in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.

The distribution of postsynaptic glutamate receptors has been shown to be regulated by proimmunocytokine tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) signaling. The role of TNF-α receptor subtypes in mediating glutamate receptor expression, trafficking, and function still remains unclear. Here, we report

N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) ontogeny and subunit expression are altered during developmental lead (Pb²+) exposure. However, it is unknown whether these changes occur at the synaptic or cellular level. Synaptic and extra-synaptic NMDARs have distinct cellular roles, thus, the effects of
