約53 kDa、実測。Uniprotでは、選択的スプライシングと翻訳後修飾により、9つのアイソフォームが示されています。この抗体は、アイソフォーム1（約38 kDa）、アイソフォーム2（約39 kDa）、アイソフォーム3（約39 kDa）を検出します。一部の細胞ライセートに43 kDa付近に特性評価されていないバンドが認められる場合があります。
細胞腫瘍抗原p53（p53）は、細胞の増殖と生存の調節を介した腫瘍抑制因子としての機能で最も広く知られている普遍的な転写因子です。p53はDNA損傷などの細胞ストレスに反応して活性化され、細胞周期停止またはアポトーシスを誘導します。p21、GADD45、Bax、Pumaなどの複数の遺伝子の発現を調整します。p53はさまざまな機構によって制御されています。転写後レベルでは、p53 mRNAの安定性が、HuR、Wig-1、RPL26、L26、WRAP53などの分子の結合によって制御されています。翻訳後は、p53はリン酸化とアセチル化を受けますが、これもp53の活性を制御する役割を果たしている可能性があります。また、20Sプロテオソームによる分解に至る、Akt-MDM2経路を介したユビキチン化を受ける可能性もあります。p53の変異が多くの種類の癌で高頻度にみられることは、このタンパク質の治療的意義を強く示しています。

免疫細胞染色：希釈倍率1：500で使用、A431細胞のp53（汎親和性）を検出できます。
免疫組織染色：希釈倍率1:1,000で使用、ヒト結腸直腸腺癌組織およびヒト前立腺癌組織のp53（汎親和性）を検出できます。
免疫蛍光：希釈倍率1：1,000で使用、ヒト結腸直腸癌細胞においてp53（汎親和性）を検出できます。
免疫沈降：独立したラボが代表的なロットを放射性標識したHOS細胞ライセートで使用しました（Vojtesek, B., et al. (1995). 71(6):1253-1256.）。
