General description
YPDブロスは、Pichia pastoris（ピキア酵母）、Saccharomyces cerevisiae（出芽酵母）、およびその他の酵母の維持や増殖に一般的に使用される栄養豊富な液体増殖培地です。分子クローニング、タンパク質発現、または増菌培地として用いられる培地です。動物組織のペプシン消化物は窒素を含む栄養素を供給します。酵母エキスは窒素含有栄養素とビタミンB複合体を供給します。デキストロースは糖質とエネルギー源を供給し、S. cerevisiae（出芽酵母）の増殖を支持します。
Application
分子生物学を目的としたSaccharomyces cerevisiae（出芽酵母）の増殖にはYPDブロスが推奨されます。この培地は大部分の従属栄養微生物の増殖を支持しますが、その単純な組成のために、酵母のルーチン培養の基礎培地として採用されています。酵母遺伝学の一般的な方法では、S. cerevisiae（出芽酵母）およびその他の酵母の培養に酵母エキスペプトンデキストロース（YPD）培地を使用することが規定されています。
