ウシ血清アルブミンは、血液膠質浸透圧の制御に重要な役割を有するタンパク質です。583個のアミノ酸で構成される水溶性タンパク質であり、 BSAの分子量（計算値）は66,430 Daltonです。6つのαヘリックスが、BSAの3つの相同性ドメインを形成しています。BSAは、pH依存的に可逆的な立体構造的異性化を受けます。ネイティブなタンパク質の構造は、加熱によって反応性および柔軟になります。

このBSA製品は、以下の特性について特異的に評価・検査されています。

このA7030 BSAは、COVID-19／SARS-CoV-2サンプル分析のためのペプチドベースのELISAアッセイで、ブロッキングバッファーの成分として特異的に使用されています（Poh, C.K. et al., Nat. Commun., 11(1), 2806 (2020))。

Preparation Note

熱ショック分画によって調製されます。
血清アルブミンはフラクション（画分）Vと呼ばれる場合があります。この命名規則は、冷エタノール沈殿を用いて血清タンパク質を分画するオリジナルのCohn（コーン）法から取られています。血清アルブミンは、Cohn法を用いて第5エタノール画分に認められました。それ以来、「フラクションV」という用語は、調製の方法に関係なく血清アルブミンを記述するのに使用されています。他の人はこの用語を使用して、オリジナルのCohn法が記述されて以降大幅に改変されたエタノール分画法により精製された血清アルブミンのことを記述しています。Sigma-Aldrichは、真のCohn分画法、改変エタノール分画法、熱ショックやクロマトグラフィーなど様々な主要方法で精製された血清アルブミンを製造および販売しています。さらなる精製ステップには、結晶化や活性炭ろ過が含まれる場合があります。
