General description

グリア線維性酸性タンパク質（GFAP）は、星状細胞（アストロサイト）に存在する中間フィラメントであり、10の異なるアイソフォームとして発現します。GFAPは、N末端の頭部、中央の桿体、およびC末端の尾部ドメインで構成されています。GFAPはヒト染色体17q21.31に位置します。

Immunogen

ブタ脊髄から精製されたGFAP。

Application

モノクローナル抗グリア線維性酸性タンパク質抗体は、ウエスタンブロットおよびラット脳／小脳のアルコール固定切片を使用した間接免疫蛍光法（2.5～5 μg/mL）での使用に適しています。本抗体は、免疫ブロット（約50 kDa）、免疫組織化学（パラホルムアルデヒド固定凍結ウサギ脳切片）、および免疫細胞化学にも使用できます。
抗グリア線維性酸性タンパク質抗体であるマウスモノクローナルは、免疫細胞化学および免疫蛍光に使用されています。

Biochem/physiol Actions

グリア線維性酸性タンパク質またはGFAP構築体（アセンブリ）は、グリア構造体の有糸分裂再構築（リモデリング）に関与しています。GFAPの遺伝的変異は、アレキサンダー病と関連しています。
グリア線維性酸性タンパク質（GFAP）遺伝子座位における微小欠失は、小児の知的能力障害および顔異形症に関係しています。高レベルのGFAPは、急性脳内出血に関連しています。

Physical form

pH 7.4の0.01 Mリン酸緩衝生理食塩水中に15 mMのアジ化ナトリウムを含有する溶液。
