General description
トリシンは、最も頻繁に使用される電気泳動バッファーです。また、細胞ペレットの再懸濁にも適しています。トリシンは、トレイリングイオンとして機能し、グリシン-ドデシル硫酸ナトリウムポリアクリルアミドゲル電気泳動（SDS-PAGE）よりも低いアクリルアミド濃度における小さなタンパク質の分離を助けます。グリシンよりも負電荷が低いため、より速く移動できます。トリシンはイオン強度が高く、それによりイオン移動を増やし、タンパク質移動を減らすことができます。それにより、アクリルアミド濃度が低いゲル中でも低分子量タンパク質を分離することができるようになります。
