Application
酪酸ナトリウムは、THF中で9-ボラビシクロ[3.3.1]ノナン（9-BBN）を用いて還元してブタナールを調製する際の反応物質として使用できます。また、還元酸化反応により、ブタナールボランおよびクロロクロム酸ピリジニウムに変換します。酪酸ナトリウムを種々のアルコールと反応させて、イオン液体ベースのクロロイミニウム試薬を用いた光延反応によりエステルが得られます。
