C60はnチャネル有機半導体です。フラーレンの高反応性は、そのsp2炭素の特徴的な角錐化によるものです。C60はトルエン中でカラムクロマトグラフィーにより精製後、残留溶媒を除去するために真空下で熱処理します。低溶媒・金属含量の高結晶質の昇華された物質が回収されました。

Application

C60は、リチウム（Li）イオン電池用の陽極材料、高い量子効率を持つペンタセン-C60系太陽光電池など、幅広い用途に使用できます。1,4-フェニレンビニレン（PPV）マトリックスに組み込み、太陽光発電に利用できます。
フラーレン-C60（昇華型、99.9%）は炭素系材料に属します。リチウムイオン電池、有機光電池（OPV）、ヘテロ接合太陽光電池、ポリマー光検出器、フォトダイオード、光触媒など、さまざまな代替エネルギー用途に使用できます。
nチャネル有機半導体。C60の水懸濁液が、Escherichia coli B23の増殖、生存、膜完全性に及ぼす影響についての研究が行われました。
