General description

Fluid Thioglycolate Medium (FTM) Clear is a universal complex medium, containing thioglycollate and L-cystine to reduce the redox potential, create an anaerobic atmosphere and inactivate mercury and other heavy metal compounds. The reduced agar content and the presence of a clear gelling agent to offer extra clarity. Resazurin indicates the reduction potential of the medium, while a color change from yellow to pink indicates an increased concentration of oxygen.

Application

Fluid Thioglycolate Medium Clear is designed for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious anaerobic and aerobic microorganisms. It is used for sterility control of pharmaceutical products.
