General description
A ganglioside neuraminidase inhibitor that is believed to act by binding to the catalytic site of neuraminidase. Reported to inhibit influenza virus neuraminidase (Ki = 4 µM). Also inhibits bacterial, viral, and mammalian neuraminidases.

Preparation Note
