General description
Anti-EGFR (Ab-3), mouse monoclonal, clone 225 recognizes the ~170 kDa epidermal growth factor receptor protein. It is validated for use in immunoprecipitation and neutralization.
Purified mouse monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with NS-1 mouse myeloma cells (see application references). Recognizes the ~170 kDa epidermal growth factor receptor protein.
Recognizes the ~170 kDa epidermal growth factor receptor protein in A431 cells.
Immunogen
Human
partially purified, human EGFR from A431 cells

This antibody has been shown to inhibit human tumor xenographs in nude mice. It inhibits EGF binding to its receptor and is an antagonist of in vivo EGF-stimulated tyrosine kinase activity. It also inhibits A431 tumor formation in nude mice. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.
Physical form
Lyophilized from 20 mM ammonium bicarbonate solution, 100 µg BSA.
Preparation Note
Reconstitute the lyophilized antibody with sterile PBS, pH 7.4, or sterile 20 mM Tris-saline (20 mM Tris containing 0.15 M NaCl), pH 7.4, to yield a final concentration of 100 µg/ml. Lyophilized antibodies should be resuspended at 4°C with occasional gentle mixing for at least 2 h. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage or refrigerate at 4°C with 0.1% azide for short-term storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.

Thrombospondin (TSP) 1 is a trimeric multidomain protein that contains motifs that recognize distinct host cell receptors coupled to multiple signaling pathways. Selected TSP1-induced cellular responses are tyrosine kinase-dependent, and TSP1 contains epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeats. Specific receptor interactions

Thrombospondin-1 (TSP1) is a multidomain protein that contains epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeats that indirectly activate the EGF receptor (EGFR) and selected downstream signaling pathways. In these studies, we show that TSP1 opens the paracellular pathway in human lung microvascular

Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) dysregulation is implicated in several diseases, given their involvement in extracellular matrix degradation and cell motility. In lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), a pulmonary rare disease, MMP-2 and MMP-9 have been detected at high levels in serum and urine. LAM

In periodontal disease (PD), bacterial biofilms cause gingival inflammation, leading to bone loss. In healthy individuals, αvβ6 integrin in junctional epithelium maintains anti-inflammatory transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) signaling, whereas its expression is lost in individuals with PD. Bacterial biofilms suppress
