General description

インテグリンβ-3は、インテグリン受容体ファミリーのメンバーです。インテグリンファミリーは細胞の細胞外基質タンパク質への接着においに重要な役割を担うことが示されており、ある種の細胞同士の接着でも見られます。膜貫通接続や細胞内シグナル伝達においてもインテグリンは重要です。インテグリンは一般的に受容体として機能しますから、多くのヒト疾病を理解するためのキーポイントでもあります。インテグリンは細胞活動の次のような多くの異なる側面とリンクされてきました；発達、免疫、白血球輸送、恒常性、さらに、がん。インテグリンβ-3は、一旦活性化されるとフィブリノゲンと結合して血小板から血小板の相互作用を発生させ、これにより破裂した内皮表面を効果的に切除します。
