General description
水不溶性β-グルカンであるセルロースは、植物細胞壁の重要な構成成分です。β-1,4結合で結びついた直鎖状グルコース残基を持つ、丈夫な線維状の多糖です。植物はこの生体高分子を大量に生産しています。
Application
セルロースは以下の用途に使用されています：
- 熱分解プロセスにおけるバイオマス分析に
- 非感染赤血球・白血球から微生物を精製するためのカラムクロマトグラフィーに
- フーリエ変換赤外分光（FTIR）の標準として、Hestrin-Schram（HS）培地で得た細菌セルロース（BC）の構造特性の研究に
- 食事関連動物試験の対照として、botryosphaeranのコレステロール低下作用の評価に
セルロース（中間繊維）は、代謝経路及び炭水化物用途に使用されます。セルロースは、バイオ燃料及びバイオ精製所用途の研究に使用されています。
