ダルベッコ改変イーグル培地(DMEM)は、イーグル基礎培地(BME)を改変したもので、4倍濃度のアミノ酸とビタミンが含まれています。オリジナルの処方には、グルコース1000 mg/Lが含まれ、胚性マウス細胞の培養に使用されていました。それ以降、マウス、ニワトリの細胞のほか、様々な正常細胞やトランスフォーム細胞の初代培養をサポートするために幾通りかの方法で改変が行われてきました。これらの培地は、L-グルタミンとピルビン酸ナトリウムの組み合わせがそれぞれに異なります。また、グルコース濃度が4500 mg/Lまで引き上げられたことから、「DMEM/High」と命名されました。

General description

本製品は、L-アラニル-L-グルタミン、HEPES、ピルビン酸ナトリウムなどの因子(一般的な改変因子)を添加していない1x完全培地です。元のDMEM高グルコース組成とは、ピリドキサールに代わりピリドキシンが使用されている点で異なります。ピリドキサールは、培地の不安定成分の1つにあたります。本培地はL-グルタミン、またはL-アラニル-L-グルタミンの補充を必要とします。
