General description
Sodium fluoride (NaF) is a metallic halide. It has been reported as dental caries preventive agent. It is the most widely employed preservative for glucose in blood. It has been reported to stabilize hepatic microsomal glucose-6-P phosphohydrolase enzyme.
Application
Sodium fluoride may be employed as fluorination agent in the synthesis of aromatic and aliphatic fluorides, via metathesis. It may be used to prepare the lysis buffer.

Stabilization and inhibition of hepatic microsomal glucose-6-P phosphohydrolase (EC 3.1.3.9) by F- requires the presence of Al3+ ions. At millimolar concentrations, reagent grade NaF inhibited glucose-6-P hydrolysis and protected the enzyme against inactivation induced by heat in the presence of

c-Mpl is a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily, expressed primarily on hematopoietic cells. Recently, the c-Mpl ligand was cloned and found to have thrombopoietic activity. In this paper we report that ligand binding induced tyrosine phosphorylation in BaF3 cells
