This high-level course explores how to make optimal use of the Parteck® range of functional excipient products. It includes a free choice of modules addressing different processes and formulation challenges.

Who should attend?
This course is designed for scientists, lab technicians, engineers and managers working with small molecules in the pharmaceutical industry who are responsible for the formulation of final drugs and process development for large-scale production.
Hands-on Practical Section
Depending on the modules selected, the laboratory sessions can include:

Formulation Modules 1-6
- Module 1: Insight into our formulation capabilities at our Center for Formulation
- With explanations of equipment and cooperation possibilities

- Module 2: Advantages of wet granulation with Parteck® Delta M compared to ß-mannitol
- Characterization of raw materials and granules by determination of powder flow properties
- Wet granulation on a low-shear mixer
- Comparison of Parteck® Delta M and ß-mannitol
- Module 3: Performance of granulated Delta-M mannitol compared to ß-mannitol(Ideal in combination with Module 2)
- Compression of granulated products on a single-punch press
- Comparison of ß-mannitol and Delta-M mannitol by galenic characterization of tablets according to friability, hardness, disintegration time, etc.
- Module 4: Benefits of direct compression on a rotary press with regard to upscaling
- Compression on a rotary tablet press
- Influence of process parameters on tablets’ galenic properties
- Galenic characterization of tablets according to friability, hardness, disintegration time, etc.
- Direct compression (DC) products: Parteck® M or Parteck® ODT can be chosen
- Module 5: Coating oral disintegration tablets (Ideal in combination with Module 4)
- Aqueous coating on a lab coater
- Coating oral disintegration tablets based on Parteck® ODT
- Preprepared tablets will be used in the coating process, which takes around 2 hours
- Galenic characterization of tablets according to friability, hardness, disintegration time, etc.
- Module 6: Make every drop count- Using mesoporous silica to enhance API solubility with Parteck® SLC
- Lab-scale loading of Parteck® SLC 500
- Equipment and operation, instruction in handling
- Compression of tablets
- Galenic characterization of tablets according to friability, hardness, disintegration time, dissolution testing, etc.

For Groups of 5 to 12 Participants
Due to the hands-on nature of this course, a minimum of 5 participants is required, with an upper limit of 12.
