Recombinant, bovine cleaved Cdk5 activator (p35) fused to GST and expressed in E. coli. It is produced as a 35 kDa precursor and further cleaved into the 25 kDa form of the protein. Cleaved Cdk5 activator is an essential regulating subunit of cdk5. Aberrant Cdk5 activity has been implicated in a number of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease, where abnormal phosphorylation of tau and/or neurofilaments has been observed. One vial contains sufficient material for approximately 25 reactions.
