El ácido gálico es un ácido fenólico hidrosoluble presente en las uvas y en las hojas de muchas plantas. Los ésteres del ácido gálico, como los taninos, los galatos de catequina y los galatos alifáticos son potentes antioxidantes in vitro. Sin embargo, el propio ácido gálico también parece tener actividad antioxidante, antineoplásica y antiangiogénica in vitro.

Application

Gallic acid has been used as a reference standard in the high performance liquid chromatography coupled triple quadrupole mass spectrometric (HPLC/QqQ MS) analysis of gallic acid in rat medicated plural serum containing Guizhi Fuling Wan, a chinese herbal formula used for the treatment of ovarian cancer.
