General description
Herring Sperm DNA, also known as hsDNA is a natural source of DNA designed for DNA binding agent studies. (1) The detection limits of hsDNA are around 5.0ng and linear ranges of light scattering intensity (I(LS)) is 0.05-2.5 mµg.
Application
Herring sperm DNA (hsDNA) is a natural DNA used in studies of DNA binding anticancer agents and DNA binding agents that modulate DNA structure and function. Herring sperm DNA is also used in physicochemical studies of DNA behavior in solution.

Fufang Banbianlian Injection (FBI) has been widely used as an anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor prescription. To understand the relationships between its bioactive ingredients and pharmacological efficacies, our previous study has been successfully identified some DNA-binding compounds in FBI using an established

The Mg(II) complex of Schiff base (K[HL]) derived from vanillin and L-tryptophan could bind with herring sperm DNA. The binding behaviors between them in physiological pH environment (pH 7.40) have been studied by spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and viscosity methods. Binding
