Gene Information

human ... GCR(2908)

General description

Anti-GR antibody detects endogenous levels of total GR protein.
Glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene/NR3C1 (nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 1) is located on human chromosome 5q31.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GR.

Immunogen Range: 201-250

Application

Anti-GR antibody has been used in western blotting.
Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene/(NR3C1) is associated with asthma. It is required for glucose homeostasis, hyperinsulinemia and increased fat deposition. It also regulates cell differentiation, nervous and immune system functions.

Extensive evidence indicates the influence of the cholinergic system on emotional processing. Previous findings provided new insights into the underlying mechanisms of long-term anxiety, showing that rats injected with a single systemic dose of pilocarpine--a muscarinic receptor (mAChR) agonist--displayed persistent
