Native fetuin from fetal bovine serum. An α-globulin that inhibits trypsin activity and promotes cell attachment, growth, and differentiation in many different culture systems. Also contains both N- and O-glycosidically-linked carbohydrates. Functions as an opsonin for cationic-deactivating molecules in macrophages.
