Gene Information

human ... GABRB2(2561)

Immunogen

MBP fusion protein from the cytosolic loop of rat GABAA receptor beta2 subunit.

Application

Anti-GABA A Receptor β2 Antibody, cytoplasmic loop is an antibody against GABA A Receptor β2 for use in IP & WB.
Western blot: 1:1,000

Immunopreciptation: The antibody will immunoprecipitate 68% of all GABAA receptors in dodecylsulfate extracts of rat forebrains (150 μL) using 15 μg of antibody.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Biochem/physiol Actions

GABAA receptor beta2 subunit. The antibody is specific for the ~50 to 56kDa in rat brain membrane fractions.

Recent data demonstrate weaker gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-ergic inhibition in ventral (VH) compared with dorsal (DH) hippocampus. Therefore, we examined possible differences regarding the GABAA receptors between VH and DH as follows: 1) the expression of the GABAA receptor subunits (alpha1/2/4/5
