βLa β-alanine, acide β−aminé, est un constituant de l'acide pantothénique et représente l'acide aminé cinétiquement limitant dans la biosynthèse des dipeptides antioxydants à groupe histidinyle, à savoir la carnosine et l'ansérine. Acide β-aminé endogène, agoniste non sélectif des récepteurs de glycine et ligand du récepteur orphelin couplé à la protéine G TGR7 (MrgD). βLe flux de β-alanine joue un rôle cytoprotecteur en maintenant la stabilité osmotique des organismes marins, des embryons de souris pré-implantation et des cellules de mammifères exposées à un stress hypoxique.
β-Alanine, a β amino acid, is a component of pantothenic acid and the rate limiting amino acid in the biosynthesis of the histidinyl antioxidant dipeptides carnosine and anserine.
