Application

La blasticidine S est utilisée comme agent de sélection sur les cellules transformées qui contiennent les gènes de résistance bls, bsr ou BSD. La blasticidine S a permis de sélectionner des cellules HEK293-T avec des plasmides TLR-2 et des cellules HEK-D5. Elle est également utilisée dans la recherche sur la synthèse des protéines au niveau de la formation des liaisons peptidiques.

Biochem/physiol Actions

La blasticidine S inhibe l'hydrolyse du peptidyl-ARNt induite par les facteurs de libération. Elle favorise la fixation de l'ARNt à la grande sous-unité ribosomale et inhibe dans une certaine mesure la formation de liaisons peptidiques.

General description

La blasticidine S est un antibiotique de la classe des aminoacylnucléosides. Elle inhibe la synthèse des protéines chez les bactéries et les eucaryotes. Elle possède également des propriétés fongicides et prévient la pyriculariose du riz.
