Gene Information

human ... GABBR1(2550)

General description

Anti-GABBR1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total GABBR1 protein.
The γ-aminobutyric acid type B (GABAB) receptor is coded by the GABBR1 gene. It has 22 exons and spans at least 18 kb. GABAB geneis present between an olfactory receptor gene cluster downstream and the HLA (human leukocyte antigen) class I region upstream. It is mapped to human chromosome 6p22.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GABBR1.

Immunogen Range: 891-940

Biochem/physiol Actions

The γ-aminobutyric acid type B (GABAB) is essential for the initiation by agonists like GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid ). GABAB receptors participates in response habituation. In the visual cortex, GABAB is also involved in the initiation of orientation tuning in conjunction with GABAA receptors.
