      Applications
      Key Applications Immunoblotting (Western Blotting)
      Application NotesImmunoblotting (1:2000, colorimetric)
Application CommentsSpecificity was confirmed by the reactivity of this antibody with VAMP2-GST fusion protein. The detection of this protein was blocked by preincubation of anti VAMP2 antibody with the immunogen peptide. Weak reactivity with a ~40 kDa protein in mouse liver extracts was also detected. No reactivity with the ~12 kDa protein was seen with mouse liver extracts. Variables associated with assay conditions will dictate the proper working dilution.

DescriptionProtein A purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~12 kDa VAMP2 protein.
BackgroundVAMP2 (Vesicle-associated membrane protein-2), also known as synaptobrevin-2, is localized to the cytoplasmic surface of the synaptic vesicle. VAMP2 is involved in vesicular transport and neurotransmission. VAMP2 is also the target of clostridial neurotoxins that block neurotransmitter release from presynaptic terminals.
